The Prince of Wales met Catherine Zeta-Jones at a gala concert ahead of the Ryder Cup and sent get well wishes to her husband Michael Douglas.
Douglas, an avid golf fan, was unable to travel to Wales with his wife because he is having treatment for cancer.
Zeta-Jones, who welcomed the American and European teams at the event, said she would be supporting her home team, despite living in America.
She said: "Michael will be glued to anything that has a golf ball and a club, but especially the Ryder Cup.
"He is doing very well, he is holding up with strength and dignity. He is just about to finish his treatment and the doctors could not be happier."
The Oscar-winner, who is also a keen golfer, said some people in America mistakenly believed she was playing in the tournament.
