Ricky Gervais has unveiled his latest TV project, declaring sending his "moron" best mate around the world as "the funniest thing I've ever seen".
Gervais and his writing partner Stephen Merchant packed Karl Pilkington off to see the Seven Wonders of the World hoping it would broaden his mind.
The duo, who had a massive hit online with Karl and The Ricky Gervais Show podcasts, lovingly compare him to Homer Simpson.
The audiobooks were made into cartoons, now Karl is on our television screens properly in An Idiot Abroad on Sky 1 HD.
"If I had my way I'd have a little camera on him 24/7 like The Truman Show," said Gervais.
He added: "I can't get enough of him, I call him every day.
"It's not a comedy but it's the funniest thing I've ever seen."
The show starts this September.
