Top Gear's driving guru the Stig has been unmasked as stuntman and racing driver Ben Collins.
Mr Collins faced photographers outside the High Court, where the BBC was refused an injunction blocking the publication of his autobiography.
The BBC were desperate for the driver's identity to remain a secret, arguing that unmasking him would spoil viewers' enjoyment of the show.
The case brings to an end fierce speculation over the identity of the man in white, whose name was said to be known only by six people, including the Top Gear presenters.
Ben Collins took on the role in 2003 after the original "black" Stig, the racing driver Perry McCarthy, outed himself in an autobiography called Flat Out, Flat Broke.
