Woodward Dream Cruise 'Detroit is back.'
That's the message many were celebrating as nearly a million people converged along Woodward Avenue to celebrate the 16th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise.
Almost 40,000 classic cars from around the globe and from states such as California, Texas, Arizona, Ohio, and even Florida attended the world's largest one-day automotive event.
This event is not just about cars because it also gives an economic boost to the local Metro Detroit economy. It's estimated that 56 million dollars is generated each year, which is more revenue than any other event in Michigan including Super Bowl 40 held at the Ford Field in 2006.
MI Auto Times was there to celebrate a glorious return to the site where America's first cars were manufactured, and classic cars first cruised Woodward Avenue.
