It has been pandemonium on the Spanish holiday island of Ibiza, as tourists flee wildfire. Thankfully there have only been two injuries, but with boats called in to rescue some tourists, and others forced to escape on foot carrying their belongings, it has not been an ideal vacation.

More than 1,500 people have been evacuated from the Spanish holiday isle of Ibiza, as wildfires continue to rage.

Two injuries have been reported so far.

And several houses and dozens of cars have been destroyed by flames.

Eleven emergency service planes have been dispatched to the area, while two Canadair planes are expected to join from Madrid.

Boats have also been called in to help rescue tourists stranded in inaccessible places.

Many more have been rescued from Ibiza's beaches via air, land, and sea.

Emergency workers fought the blaze all Sunday, but officials say the fires were still active as of Monday morning.

One official is optimistic, but says not all the fires have yet been brought under control.

"At the moment the situation seems to be stable in the southern part, not in the north. However, we expect that it will be controlled soon as far as weather conditions could help."

Many tourists have had no choice but to flee on foot, their belongings on their backs.
