Excess Baggage by Patrick Linggard

This strikingly realistic, literary novel often graphically portrays nightmarish scenarios (on occasion, utilizing chilling Hitchcockian elements) that resurface as a result of ‘ingrained’, disturbing, psychologically abhorrent circumstances from characters’ pasts. In the story, innocent people are victimized because the mainstay of society are unaware of these quasi-delusional and/or hate-filled feelings, which are entrenched in some of the outwardly respectable or prominent members of their small-town society, whose disturbing, haunting psycho-histories compel them to conceal and/or furtively display their innate hostilities, whilst they grin inexplicably, like the ‘Cheshire cat’.
