Today, Monday 26th July, Sportworx has been named as a finalist in the 'Best Sports Project Category' of the National Lottery Awards 2010. The awards recognise the amazing work being done by lottery-funded groups across the UK. The aim is to highlight the significant difference that projects - both large and small - make to communities everywhere and to celebrate the achievements of the people behind them.
The Sportworx project covers all of South Lanarkshire and specifically targets zones of high deprivation. The project is designed to recognise the achievements, abilities and potential of young people aged 15 to 20 and aims to improve their self esteem, confidence and life skills.
