The aptly named "Peace Village" neighborhood outside Toronto offers an alternate outcome to the mix of Islamic and Western culture than that being debated in some European states. Instead of banning headscarves, the city has welcomed schoolgirls in veils. Instead of erasing difference, the city has chosen to highlight it.
