Lindsay Lohan's estranged father has revealed he is "devastated" his daughter has been jailed.
Michael Lohan's lawyer, Lisa Bloom, made a statement outside the Beverly Hills courthouse: "Michael spent the morning praying for his daughter. He loves her. He does not believe that she should be incarcerated.
"He's devastated that she's going to jail and he stands ready, willing, and able to help her anytime. He appeared this morning to support her and he has each and every time that she's had a court appearance. He loves his daughter very much and will continue to pray for her."
Lindsay arrived to be jailed with her mother Dina and was booked into the Lynwood Correctional Facility just after 10am.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said: "At about 10:11 this morning, Lindsay Lohan was booked into our facility to begin her sentence. She has been extremely cooperative and everything is going smoothly."
The Mean Girls actress has been jailed for 90 days for violating the terms of her probation on a 2007 drunk-driving and cocaine-possession charge.
