Bokaro Steel City is an Industrial city situated in the State of Jharkhand, in India. It is the home of the largest steel plant in India. It is also one of the three headquarters of Police IG zone.
The members of the CISF Unit at Bokaro had formed an all-India association in March 1979 and Sadanand Jha, was elected as its General Secretary. A delegation of the said association went to Delhi . Some of the demonstrators, including Sadanand Jha, were arrested,but subsequently released on bail. At Bokaro Steel Plant, the agitation assumed aggravated from 27th May, 1979. "Whereas a large group of members of Central Industrial Security Force (hereinafter referred to as the Force) of CISF Unit, Bokaro Steel Ltd.,Bokaro took out processions and raised slogans such as 'INQULAB ZINDABAD';'VARDI VARDI VARDI BHAI BHAI LARKE LENGE PAI PAIJO HAMSE TAKRAYEGE CHOOR CHOOR HO JAYEGA'
