Shakira has visited a school in South Africa ahead of the World Cup Kick Off Celebration Concert.

The Grammy-award winning singer will be performing at the event along with Alicia Keys and the Black Eyed Peas.

Shakira, who is also a goodwill ambassador for the UN children's organisation UNICEF, received a warm welcome when she visited school children in Soweto near Johannesburg.

She was supporting the 1Goal Education campaign that aims to put 72-million children across Africa into school for the first time.

33-year-old Shakira said: "I wish that every kid in the world has a happy childhood and has access to a quality education."

As well as encouraging global leaders to make education a priority long after the World Cup has ended, the Hips Don't Lie singer had fun with the children by teaching them some dance moves to the official World Cup song "Waka Waka" (This time for Africa).
