The X Factor team has a new face, but it is not the one that was rumoured in the papers.
Former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq has been signed up to front ITV2 switchover programme The Xtra Factor.
Konnie replaces Holly Willoughby, who had to step down due to her commitments on This Morning.
Konnie, 34, said: "I am delighted to be joining The Xtra Factor team. It's amazing to be a part of one of the most popular and well-loved shows on television and I can't wait to get started."
Claire Zolkwer, ITV's Commissioning Editor for Entertainment said: "We're thrilled that Konnie is going to be joining Xtra Factor. Her broadcast experience alongside her enthusiasm for the show will be a great asset to ITV2."
Tabloids claimed The One Show host Christine Bleakley was being lined up for the job.
