Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has apologised for comparing having her photographs taken by paparazzi to being raped.
Lobbyists for rape victims have been reportedly been outraged by her comment, and the actress has now told People magazine that her remarks were "stupid".
Stewart said: "I really made an enormous mistake - clearly and obviously".
Stewart has worked with The Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network organisation, who have since said that they appreciate her apology, and would happily work with the actress again in the future.
Kristen is up for Best Female Performance at this years MTV Movie Awards.
