Afghan jirga seen as 'last hope' for peace

A high-security meeting of Afghan elders is the country's best hope for making peace and bringing an end to the long war with the Taliban, many delegates to a landmark "peace jirga" said Thursday. Around 1,600 delegates, representing a mix of tribal, ethnic, political, geographic, religious and gender interests, are attending the jirga, or assembly, in a massive tent in Kabul's southeastern suburbs.Duration: 01:08
