Historical Manuscripts and Autographs auction featuring a wide selection of documents, letters, and signed photographs. This particular auction focuses on Revolutionary War era content letters, and contains the papers of William Vernon, a wealthy Rhode Island merchant with strong ties to our Nation’s founding fathers. Our Presidential category includes such rarities as a William Henry Harrison document signed as president, one of only a handful known to exist. Other highlights include a letter by Albert Einstein that reveals that he threw away the original manuscript for the Theory of Relativity and that it was not burned by the Nazis. This is one of four letters by Einstein, three of which are addressed to Dr. Hugo Iltis, an outspoken Nazi opponent during the 1930s.
