The launch of London's newest Louis Vuitton boutique had some superstar help. Gwyneth Paltrow, Elle Macpherson, Thandie Newton and Alexa Chung were some of the big names who turned out for the grand unveiling on Bond Street.

Millions of pounds have been spent on the three-floor boutique, which covers 1,500 square metres and includes high tech handbag displays that move.

Louis Vuitton's creative director Marc Jacobs described it as: "A monument to luxury and visual stimulation."

Supermodel Elle added: "I haven't seen anything like this in a long time. It's like the 90s when we all had lots of money to spend. And what's really interesting about this store is that it's not about lots of money, it's about taste. And that's something that's always synonymous with Vuitton but particularly since Marc has taken the helm."

The shop which has been dubbed the "Maison" opens on May 28.
