Jake Gyllenhall has been chatting about jokes made during his interview with Jonathan Ross about his co-stars in new movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
During the 29-year-old's interview on Jonathan's Friday night chatshow, the presenter said: "I would be annoyed if I'd have been the other brothers in this story because you're much better looking than them. You know it Jake. They look like they both have something wrong with them."
Jake replied with: "They're both wonderful people," to which Jonathan retaliated: "I'm sure they are. They've got inner beauty but you've got outer beauty and lets face it, that's what counts."
And speaking at the Prince of Persia world premiere Jake was keen to stress it was Jonathan who was being a little on the mean side, not him:
"That wasn't me. It was Jonathan Ross. Jonathan - you have to take responsibility for your comments. Here I am carrying them," Jake said.
But it seems Richard Coyle who plays his brother Tus in Prince of Persia, has not taken the comments to heart.
"No, no it was all done tongue in cheek - the spirit of fair play" the 38-year-old actor said.
