SSI Schaefer took on the complete conception and construction of the warehouse at WIP. The main goal: increasing the output by the same number of employees. The warehouse management system “ANT” is cooperates with the existing browser based system from WIP. After registration 94% of all textiles are transferred to bins for automated handling. A total of 47000 bins marked with bar codes are available for this process. Oversized goods are picked manually later on. All items are stored in the automated small part warehouse, the miniload. A total of 8 storage and retrieval machines with a performance of up to 120 double cycles per hour. The system ensures availability from up to 98%. 2 storage and retrieval machines are equipped with a special extractor for double deep storage. Boxes and cartons with different sizes can be operated simultaneously.
