After three years away from the big screen raising her family, Jennifer Lopez has made her comeback. The actress and singer unveiled her new feature The Back-Up Plan at a star studded premiere in LA.

The rom-com sees the A-lister as a woman who gives up on finding Mr Right and decides to go it alone as a mother.

"I chose it because I love romantic comedies," explained the 40-year-old.

"It was a really good script and I thought the writer did a really good job of mixing the emotional with the funny of being pregnant, which is the big obstacle in the script. It was fun and it was something I wanted to do when I read it," she added.

Jennifer's last major movie was 2007's El Cantante. She cut down her workload after giving birth to twins Max and Emme in February 2008 and admits juggling motherhood with stardom is not easy.

"It is a balancing act and I would not say it is tough. I really enjoyed, one of the best days of my life is the first day that I brought them to set and I was working and my whole life merging together and it was total happiness for me," she said.

The mum-of-two stars alongside Australian actor Alex O'Loughlin, who described J-Lo as a pleasure to work with.

"I was surprised at how grounded Jennifer is and how normal she is for someone who is as famous and successful as she is. It was a great experience and I did not expect anything and it was wonderful," said the actor.
