This program prepares students for whom English is an additional language for post-secondary health programs where English fluency (reading, writing, listening and speaking) is a professional requirement for safe practice. Students have the unique opportunity to enhance communication skills necessary for the development of professional relationships within the workplace and also learn the health terminology utilized within Canadian health care settings.
This innovative program is designed to increase students success when they enter their program of choice. It is taught by faculty members who have expertise in both health concepts and teaching English as an additional language and is focused on active participation learning activities that emphasize development of English communication skills but which are based upon core curriculum topics common to various health programs.
