The world has watched her meteoric rise to fame, now fans will get the chance to read Susan Boyle's life story.

The Scottish singer has signed a deal to write her autobiography.

The Woman I Was Born To Be is being published by Transworld and will hit shops this autumn.

The West Lothian star took her first steps to stardom with an appearance on Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

Susan said: "When I strutted on to the stage for that audition, I was a scared wee lassie, still grieving for my mother, not caring how I looked. I think I've grown up a lot in the last year, become more of a lady, and I'm not so frightened any more."

She added: "I'm writing this book to try to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover and I hope it will benefit other people."

Despite coming second to Diversity on Britain's Got Talent, Susan has gone on to release a groundbreaking album. I Dreamed A Dream was a hit worldwide and achieved the biggest ever sales for a new female solo artist.
