With many popular bollywood songs in her kitty like “Thaa Kar Ke”, “Marjaani Marjaani”, “Khuda Ya Khair”; Akriti Kakar is launching her first namesake album “Akriti”. It is Akriti Kakar's first original album after her many popular film songs that she has sung in films like “Kismat Konnection”, “Golmaal Returns”, “Aa Dekhein Zara” and “Johnny Gaddaar”. The album “Akriti” released on Sony Music and the music has been composed by the musical maestro Shankar Mahadevan and Akriti Kakar herself. The album comprises of one video track called "Mehrmaa Ve" composed by the fabulous Shankar Mahadevan. He has composed 2 songs in the album because of his firm belief and faith in Akriti as an artist. This album also has Akriti debuting as a composer with 4 original compositions. The songs have been penned by eminent names from the industry such as Neelesh Misra (an ex HT senior editor and consultant), Rani Malik and Manoj Yadav. The album "AKRITI" contains 7 absolutely fresh songs each one different from each other. The genre of the songs ranges from a melodious yet rhythmic compositions which have resonance of the lanes of UP to an angry aggressive song of a heartbroken woman. The album is a conscious effort of reviving people's attention towards non film music in India and giving them some good music apart from films. Akriti as an artist uses this album "AKRITI" to showcase her various facets and colours as a singer and composer together for the first time, hoping that her maiden attempt as a composer is appreciated. Akriti Kakar started learning Hindustani Classical music from her mother, who’s a post graduate in Hindustani Classical music and (Late) Guru Sh. Byomkesh Banerjee. She gave her first stage performance at the tender age of 5 years and from there became a part of "Little Stars" the Anand Ji (Kalyanji Anandji fame) troupe, where she made way through two world tours. Akriti has also been a winner of TVS Sa Re Ga Ma National Talent Hunt 1998 on Zee TV. - H.S. Communication
