Pompey shock Spurs to reach FA Cup final

Portsmouth will have an FA Cup final to look forward to at the end of a tortuous season after a shock 2-0 semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Frederic Piquionne broke the deadlock in the first half of extra-time and former Spurs player Kevin Prince Boateng slotted home a late penalty to send Portsmouth's travelling fans into raptures.

Debt-riddled Portsmouth, whose relegation from the top flight was confirmed on Saturday, will return to Wembley on May 15 to face Chelsea who beat Aston Villa 3-0.

Portsmouth had the better of the first half but Tottenham improved after the break and almost snatched victory in stoppage time when Peter Crouch's close-range flick was saved instinctively by England keeper David James.

Crouch had a goal harshly disallowed soon after Piquionne's opener but Tottenham could have no complaints about the penalty decision after Wilson Palacios brought down Aruna Dindane.
