Although this issue is credited Russ Carlson, who is the featured pianist, the musical direction of the Crown house bands was is in the hands of Adrian Schubert from 1930 and onwards. Schubert engaged such well known musicians as Mannie Klein, Miff Mole, Tony Partenti and Larry Binyon. This lovely recording was made in 1932, with Harold Van Emburgh singing the chorus. Van Emburgh was a vocalist who made a series of fine recordings in the early 1930's, mainly for Crown. Thanks to the beautiful photograph courtesy of Mr. Van Emburgh's family, for the very first time I'm able to include a portrait of this excellent vocalist.
