Audience member Luglio Sandoval is the director of the Canadian Pacific Ballet. He is also a ballet dancer, and was very impressed by Shen Yun’s performers.

"Technically they are superb, definitely. They are solid. I was impressed by the "take" from the moment that the curtain rises up and they were really, really full of energy and enthusiasm. I know that they have been touring all over the world, so you often expect to see, you know, a little bit, none of that, not a moment of hesitation."
He says that Shen Yun brings a positive message to society.

"It's beautiful to see the opportunity this group brings, the opportunity to bring an incredible message that it brings. Not just bringing art, but the use of the art to bring us potential social change, which is the ultimate goal of societies."
Mr Sandoval says he's like children to see Shen Yun to understand how other cultures are.

"It shed some light in some aspects of our lives that sometimes requires us to stop and look at it. And the opportunity to bring and let our children see what this message is. And what our culture and other parts of other cultures and how we all connect. I think it is a real manifestation of the divine on stage."
A performance depicting the persecution of Falun Gong in China left Mr. Sandoval with a feeling of hope.

"But it didn't dwell in it to make you feel sad. You feel happy about it, you feel that there was a hope, a message of hope with it."
Falun Gong is a peaceful meditation practice that the Chinese Communist regime has been persecuting for more than ten years.
