Nanny McPhee has only just finished saving children from World War II, but her next job may take her to present day and even the future.
Emma Thompson, the star and creator of the film franchise about a magical nanny, is hoping the snaggle-toothed heroine will return for even more adventures.
"First of all we've got to see if this one makes any money, because if it doesn't we won't be making a third one, " said Emma.
"What the studio want is for me to do a modern one next. My idea was that I'd go way into the future, which I will do. I want to send her into space," she added.
The British star, who has won Oscars for acting and writing, loosely adapted the stories from the Nurse Matilda books by Christianna Brand.
Emma said her favourite scenes from instalment number two, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, involve a group of pigs performing a synchronised swimming routine.
