Luka Bencic, author and guitar player and Matko Botic, guitar and mandolin player, recorded 3 originals and a cover (Hank Williams' The Ramblin' Man) in an improvised studio in the autumn of 2001. The idea of serious work on Bencic songs had been considered until the summer of 2004 when ecevic and Širola join Bencic and Botic to form the final and complete line up. Different pop music genres, ranging from rocknroll and punk to soul and country, influenced their music. After numerous concerts across Croatia, in the summer of 2008, My Buddy Moose started to prepare their second album which was recorded in Pula, and it features the greats of root American music: Chris Eckman, the frontman of Walkabouts, and Howe Gelb.
