I'd thought there was a closedown with the main BBC1 Xmas ident, but not on Christmas Eve 1996, but its announcer Ben Edwards wishes us a warmful goodnight and instead we have the normal BBC1 globe being played, that means the circus-top '1' christmas ident did debut on Christmas Eve, but at last it was played the following night in its entirely.
