The sea otter is a marine mammal with capability to stay in the ocean for a long period with a dense thick coat of fur. - 2 layers embedding air bubbles between oily fibers which keeps it dry and protected from the cold. It is native to the coasts of the northern and eastern North Pacific Ocean. These remarkable animals use tools: they open the shells and their prey hitting them with one stone! Sea otters contribute to control sea urchin populations helping to protect the ecosystem and other populations which would otherwise be damaged by a too big number of sea urchins.
