Colorado health board considers limiting marijuana providers

DENVER - There could be big changes in store for medical marijuana patients and providers. Monday the state health board will consider limiting medical marijuana providers to five patients each. The proposal at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says there is nothing in Amendment 20 that allows for the creation of dispensaries, and that caregivers should be people, not businesses. But Lori Cookston, co-owner of Cannabis Medical, says if the change is approved, she worries there won't be enough providers for the 9,000 registered medical marijuana patients in Colorado and customers will go to the streets for their drugs.
