Rogers was a Hollywood actor and musician, mainly on trombone and trumpet mostly, but Rogers, was billed as the only bandleader in America who could play every instrument in the orchestra. This versatile artist was a musician before starting his acting career, and maintained both careers for a while. He made his first film in 1925, and the same year that his band was booked into New York's Pennsylvania Hotel. Rogers handled most of the male vocals himself, like is the case on this outstanding recording, which I upload to be compared to Carlson's rendition, waxed the same year, 1932.
