Understanding the Parts List in Civil 3D
In Civil 3D, the Parts List is essential for defining and managing components in Pipe Networks and Pressure Networks. It allows users to specify pipe and structure types, sizes, and materials used in a project.
1. What is a Parts List in Civil 3D?
A Parts List is a collection of predefined pipes, fittings, and structures used in storm, sanitary, and water networks. It ensures consistency and standardization in design.
📌 Where is it used?
✅ Gravity Pipe Networks (e.g., sewer, stormwater).
✅ Pressure Pipe Networks (e.g., water, gas, fire protection).
2. Accessing the Parts List
To view or edit the Parts List:
Go to Home Tab → Create Design → Pipe Network.
Click "Parts Lists" in the Pipe Network or Pressure Network section.
Choose an existing Parts List or create a New One.

3. Components of a Parts List
A Parts List consists of:

4. Creating a Custom Parts List
Go to Toolspace → Settings Tab → Pipe Network → Parts List.

Add Pipes & Structures by clicking "Add Part Family".
Choose available sizes and rules for each part.
Click OK to save.

5. Assigning a Parts List to a Pipe Network
Go to Home Tab → Pipe Network → Create Pipe Network.
