The Court of Appeal in Putrajaya on Thursday (Feb 20) acquitted and discharged former Rural and Regional Development Ministry secretary-general, Datuk Mohd Arif Ab Rahman, of abetting his son in a bribery case involving SG$200,000 (approximately RM627,636) linked to a rural electricity supply (BELB) project in Sandakan, Sabah, nine years ago.
However, the court upheld the conviction of his son, Ahmad Zukhairi, on four counts of soliciting and receiving SG$200,000 in bribes related to multiple ministry projects in 2016.
