The guidelines for installing cables and phone charging sockets in express buses are expected to be finalised as early as April, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday (Feb 17), Loke said the guidelines are being developed by the Energy Commission and SIRIM Berhad (Malaysian Standards and Industrial Research Institute) to ensure compliance by bus manufacturers.
He added that the use of charging sockets remains prohibited on express buses until the guidelines are completed.
