TikTok has returned to U.S. app stores after former President Donald Trump postponed enforcement of a ban on the Chinese-owned platform until April 5th. The app briefly went dark last month and was granted a 75-day extension by an executive order. The extension allowed it time to comply with a law requiring its sale to a neutral party. Apple and Google resumed downloads after receiving assurances they wouldn’t be held liable. The law banning TikTok, signed by President Joe Biden, was upheld by the Supreme Court amid concerns over national security. Trump once backed the ban but has since expressed interest in finding a compromise and floated potential buyers.
