Residents of Worcester’s Albion Mill flats are furious after housing managers replaced plant-lined walls with “prison-style” fencing to prevent boat dwellers from passing shopping over railings.
The change followed just two complaints about trespassing, but locals say it has left the picturesque Diglis Marina looking like a building site.
Narrowboat owner Tony Wass, 67, returned from holiday to find £1,000 worth of decorations removed, calling the fence “ugly beyond belief.”
The move has sparked outrage among both apartment residents and boaters, who now face a mile-long walk to transport their shopping. FirstPort has yet to comment.
