Prosecutors had charged Adams in September with accepting illegal campaign contributions from Turkey and $100,000 in travel perks in exchange for official acts. The case was dismissed after discussions between the DOJ, Adams’s legal team, and the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office. The DOJ stated in a memo that the indictment hindered Mayor Adams’s role in Trump’s immigration enforcement.
