Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has reached a $25 million settlement with Donald Trump over a lawsuit filed in 2021 after his social media accounts were suspended following the January 6 Capitol riot. As part of the agreement, $22 million will go toward Trump’s presidential library, while the remaining funds will cover legal fees and other plaintiffs. The settlement comes amid Meta’s recent efforts to repair relations with Trump and his allies, including rolling back certain fact-checking policies.
