Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has become the first head of state to visit Syria since Bashar al-Assad’s ousting.
He was welcomed by Syria’s newly-appointed interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Syria, including with humanitarian aid, infrastructure, and electricity.
Qatar has pledged to assist in Syria’s reconstruction and unification efforts under its new leadership.
