Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko dismissed Western concerns over the elections, saying he "couldn’t care less" whether they recognize the results. Speaking to journalists after voting, he stated, "What matters to me is that Belarusians recognize these elections."
On Monday, electoral officials declared Lukashenko the winner, extending his 31-year rule, while Western governments rejected the election as a ‘sham’.
