Moulting presented a challenging process for birds, as they shed and replaced parts of their body coverings, such as feathers, fur, and hair. When it was time for Charlie, a pet bird, to moult, his feathers flicked onto his little birdy chin, transforming him into Charlie, the Wise Old Bearded Fellow.
