Amazon confirmed the layoffs of about 200 employees in its North America Stores division. The layoffs include roles in fashion, fitness, and other areas. The stores division includes private label brands, Prime membership, and consumables. The company stated that restructuring aims to align with priorities and offer supporting affected employees during the transition. Since 2022, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has overseen cost-cutting measures, eliminating approximately 27,000 jobs across various divisions and scaling back experimental ventures.
