Former President Jimmy Carter was honored Thursday at the Washington National Cathedral, where all living U.S. presidents gathered for his funeral. Carter, who passed away at 100, was celebrated as a compassionate leader, visionary, and humanitarian. President Joe Biden lauded Carter's legacy of dignity and respect, while others highlighted his pioneering efforts in environmentalism, civil rights, and women's rights. Carter’s casket will now return to Plains, Georgia, for a private family burial after lying in state at the U.S. Capitol.
