Nvidia unveiled its Project DIGITS desktop computer at CES 2025. It targeted AI developers with a Linux-based system running on the company's latest "Blackwell" AI chip and a new CPU co-designed with MediaTek. The $3,000 machine represents Nvidia's expansion into the desktop CPU market. Chief Executive Jensen Huang noted MediaTek could sell the energy-efficient CPU independently, highlighting a "win-win" partnership. While the device is not aimed at mass-market users, Nvidia aims to bridge Linux and Windows systems using Microsoft's Windows Subsystem for Linux technology, with plans to make the hybrid system mainstream.
