House bill renewing ABS-CBN franchise filed
Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda says he files a bill that will grant a franchise to ABS-CBN Corporation during a media interview on Jan. 7, 2025 at the House of Representatives. Salceda said that he wanted to have a 'free market of ideas' in the broadcast industry and that there should be competition among Philippine media companies. ABS-CBN's franchise was not renewed after it expired in 2020.
