Red & His Big Ten basically were the Louisana Rhythm Kings with the addition of clarinetist Goodman. As for the Louisiana Rhythm Kings, they were a pseudonym for the better-known Red Nichols & His Five Pennies, among the of most popular bands of the New York jazz scene of the 1920s. Besides the Louisiana Rhythm Kings they recorded under a variety of different names, including the Arkansas Travelers, The Red Heads, The Charleston Chasers, The Six Hottentots, The Hottentots and Miff Mole and his Little Molers. The band's style was often called "Chamber Jazz", famous for its refinement. This superb record was made in 1931. Vocal by Paul Small.
