It is Christmas night and the whole city is now asleep. A child gets on the train that seems to be waiting for him alone: the Polar Express, headed for the North Pole. When he reaches his destination, Santa promises the child to give him whatever he wants and he just asks for a bell on the sleigh. On the return trip he loses the gift, which he will find the next morning. His mother admires the object but believes it is broken: anyone who does not believe in Santa Claus cannot hear its sound.
