At Vydehi, being part of the Surgical Oncology Department is more than just training—it’s a journey of growth, discovery, and fulfillment.

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to present my research at Natcon2024, the Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncologists. My paper, Patient Related Outcomes Following Breast Cancer Surgery: A Prospective Study Using the Breast-Q Module, was selected among over 800 submissions and awarded 15th prize—earning me an International Conference Travel Fellowship.

Moments like these bring a true sense of purpose to our work. And none of this would have been possible without the guidance of my mentors, Dr. M. S. Ganesh and Dr. C. M. Giridhar. Their support has been invaluable—they’ve not only shaped my clinical skills but also my perspective on patient-centered care.

In our department, the focus goes beyond just surgical skills. We’re encouraged to ask questions, conduct impactful research, and explore cutting-edge techniques, like robotic-assisted surgeries, to improve patient outcomes.

Being here means being part of a collaborative environment where every step we take is a step towards redefining cancer care. The opportunities and support at Vydehi make me feel ready to contribute meaningfully to the field.

This experience has made me excited about what lies ahead—not just for myself, but for every patient whose life we touch.
