"There was a huge fire in a famous SoHo building," the filmer, Samari, told WooGlobe. "These videos were taken right before the fire department arrived."
The footage captures dark smoke plumes rising into the sky, leaving onlookers on the street in shock.
The rooftop blaze was reported around 2:45 PM, and thanks to the swift response of emergency teams, the situation was brought under control by 4 PM.
