A Pembrokeshire man who is on a mission to raise money for his local church has started his fundraising journey with small steps in the locality, before embarking on his bigger challenge to walk around Wales carrying a cross.
Jordan Rawlinson is carrying a cross around Wales, and set off on his challenge on Monday, November 18, walking 40km from Pembroke Dock 40km for starters; before continuing on another 14km from the Cleddau Bridge to Haverfordwest later that week.
So far Jordan has raised £290 for St John’s Church in Pembroke Dock.
“I am embarking on a powerful journey of faith, walking long distances around 10 hours (40km),” he explained.
“This will be part one of my journey while carrying a large cross to help raise funds for St John’s Church and as a symbol of Christ’s love and sacrifice.
Jordan’s main journey will be to walk around Wales where he will be visiting churches and cathedrals in all weather, whilst camping out to finally reach his destinations.
“This mission is for St. John’s Church in Pembroke Dock, a vital part of our community; and to spread the message of Jesus Christ and inspire others to reconnect with their faith,” he continued.
“Funds raised will help maintain the church, support outreach programs, and keep it thriving as a beacon of hope and worship.
“Carrying the cross isn’t just physical it’s spiritual. It’s about honouring Christ’s sacrifice, sharing His message, and uniting with those in need of love and redemption.”
Jordan said that any donations will be given directly to St Johns Church to support them and help spread the Gospel.
“Together, we can make a difference,” he added.
Jordan will be posting updates on his Instagram account (@jr_official97).
